The Liechtenstein banking group LGT surveyed a “representative number” of wealthy investors from Switzerland, German and Austria for the fifth edition of its LGT Private Banking Report. The study found that wealthy customers pay particular attention to financial stability when selecting a bank.
The Liechtenstein financial centre scored excellently among the respondents. Seven out of ten German investors surveyed could imagine investing here. In particular, the younger generation of clients from all three countries showed a clear affinity for investing in Liechtenstein as well as Switzerland.
According to the study, the respondents especially appreciate the Liechtenstein financial centre’s “liberal economic order and straightforward tax system”. Austrians and Germans gave it better marks than their own financial centres in several areas. The only area found in need of some improvement was with respect to adapting the legal and regulatory framework.
